The Heart of Epoh

In the turn of 30, the Dyadro will be told,

To take their place in Epoh, to be brave and bold.

Who they are and what they are, it’s now to be revealed,

It’s their destiny in life, since birth their fate’s been sealed.

Epoh, the Light, the core of goodness and justice, compassion and truth, hope and joy.

Etah, the Darkness, the core of evil and hate, repression and corruption, wretchedness and deceit.

There is always a constant struggle between the two. Within individual beings and throughout societies, worlds, and galaxies. Both are incredibly strong forces diligently working to secure populations of sentient life forms to their values and ideals. The Epoh brings these populations to the Light through prophets called Komis. Through reason and promise and faith. The Etah enslaves populations to the Dark through conscription and intimidation and battle.

From the Dawn of Life, the struggle has been fierce. The Epoh learned during eons of tyranny by the Etah that it had to fight for its time and place in the universe. If the door to the Light was to be opened, it had to be protected. The legions of Komis, governed by the Circle of the HiKomis, formed their own army to stand for them and newly emerging worlds.

Fighting for the HiKomis and their ambassadors are millions of loyal and passionate Guardians guided by elite highly trained leaders born in pairs called the Dyadro. Together the Guardians and the Dyadro push through the Etah, defend the Komis and stand guard while young worlds and promising populations find the Light inside them and make their choice.

Allura and Alden Alistar are about to have their world turned upside down. Or more accurately, redefined. They are about to discover their true identity…and their destiny. They think they are two average teenagers. Twins who just turned fifteen, living in the Midwest and enjoying music, TV, pizza and video games, their biggest challenges being algebra, dates, and keeping their rooms picked up.

But now it’s time. Their time. 

Their lives shift from what they thought they knew to what they couldn’t imagine. They find out their Aunt Choxie, whom they’ve lived with their whole lives, is a Matrika, a warrior, bodyguard and trainer, and they are a Dyadro. A pair conceived and given life on a distant planet then brought to Earth to grow up without the pressure of their future weighing on them. The tremendous pressure of their responsibility.

For now is the year of the Telling.  It’s the first ritual of the transformation. The first step to Knowing. They must train and prepare for battle, for they are part of a race of elite protectors. They will have incredible powers, but with that will come an awesome obligation. When they are ready, they’ll join the other chosen Twins across the galaxy to fight the Darkness. They must keep the universe in the Light or there can no longer be free life anywhere.

Every hundred generations or so, there is born a special pair. A set of Twins blessed with incredible potential. They ascend to the top of all Dyadro where they lead the Legions of the Light to become the Heart of Epoh.

According to the Ancient Books of Legend and Faith, the combined wisdom of all the Epoh prophets, and confirmed in the Books of the Past and The Books of the Coming, there will some day be a pair who will become more than the Heart of Epoh. They will grow to be invincible. The Divine Defenders. Two who, if they develop to their full power, will lead all who love the promise of the Epoh and completely drown out the Darkness. They will lead the Guardians and other Dyadro to create a Light so perfect the Darkness may never come back.
